Celso Kirby Go Chua is an accomplished psychologist, clinical supervisor, and educator with over two decades of experience in counselling, psychotherapy, and academic leadership. He is a registered psychologist and clinical supervisor with both the Singapore Registry of Psychologists and the Association of Psychotherapists and Counsellors Singapore, and is the author of The Bible’s Secrets to Counselling, published in 2016. His background reflects “20 years experience in research, counselling and psychotherapy” and an equally extensive history of teaching and curriculum development.
Across his career, Chua has held significant roles in universities and training institutions in Singapore and abroad, lecturing in a wide range of psychology subjects from clinical and developmental psychology to research methods, statistics, and counselling skills. His appointments include long‑standing positions at the University of Wollongong (SIM/SUSS), James Cook University Singapore, the University of Derby (Aventis), DigiPen Institute of Technology, and the Management Development Institute of Singapore. He has also served as a counselling supervisor for institutions such as the National University of Singapore and the British Council, and has developed multiple specialist diplomas, including the “Specialist Diploma in Teaching and Supporting Children with Special Needs.”
Beyond academia, Chua is the Director of Grace Counselling Centre, where he has served since 2009, and has contributed widely as a workshop facilitator, speaker, and media resource person on topics ranging from crisis management to dream interpretation and mental health. His professional memberships span major psychological associations in Singapore and the Philippines, and his educational background includes a Master of Arts in Psychology with a concentration in counselling psychology from Ateneo de Manila University. His career reflects a deep commitment to advancing psychological education, professional training, and community mental health.
