The Diploma in Disability Studies is a part-time programme that can be completed in 6-months.
It is designed specifically to train you how to teach children with a wide range of disabilities, including those with various degrees of intellectual, behavioural, and sensory problems. You will acquire curriculum development and teaching pedagogy to enable children to acquire literacy and numeracy competencies.
The Diploma in Disability Studies will introduce you to:
- Specific Learning Difficulties
- Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders
- Sensory Integration
- Communication Disorders
By the end of 6 months, you will have a basic knowledge of the key areas of child development, educational theory, and knowledge of the major types of disabilities. You will also learn the skills necessary for identification of specific disabilities and will develop competency in a range of teaching skills to suit the needs of the children under your care.
