The objectives of the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Business  Management are:

  • Students will gain a multidisciplinary understanding of how organisations operate, make decisions, and create value across different industries.
  • Graduates will be equipped with analytical, interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving skills applicable across roles such as analyst, consultant, project manager, or entrepreneur.
  • Students will learn to interpret global shifts—economic, technological, cultural—and apply this understanding to organisational objectives and strategic decision-making.
  • Cultivate responsible, ethical, and sustainable management perspectives.
  • Students will learn research methods, data analysis, AI applications, and business intelligence tools to support evidence-based decision-making.

1. Responsible Business
This module challenges students to apply their learning within a complex debate to contemporary business and societal issues. Participating fully with the module will support students in the development of both academic and employability skills.

2. Organisational Behaviour
This module is designed to develop students’ knowledge, awareness and understanding of one of the most challenging areas of focus facing organisations today - the role, relations and relevance of people in the workplace.

3. Entrepreneurship and the Business Environment
This module provides essential knowledge of the business environment, including key macro- and microeconomic factors influencing new venture creation and success.

4. Managing Business Resources
This module equips students with a broad understanding of financial and operational resource management. Students will explore key aspects of the supply chain, including purchasing and procurement, operations and manufacturing, distribution and logistics, and sales.

5. AI and the Futures of Work
This module equips students with foundational knowledge of AI models, their applications, and their implications for business management. Students will explore AI’s role in the organisational value chain, evaluating its potential to enhance efficiency, decision-making, and innovation.

6. Fundamentals of Sales and Marketing
The aim of this module is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of marketing and sales theory and its practical applications. This module delves into the methods and strategies that organisations employ to identify and meet the needs of both internal and external stakeholders.

7. Management Practice in Disruptive Times
This module is designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of contemporary management and leadership principles, enabling them to work towards a discovery of management concepts and theories in relation to their individual developmental journey.

8. Financial Analysis and Application
Students will gain an understanding of the key statements in published financial accounts and how to analyse and interpret the information presented. It will also look at key information for financial decision makers inside organisations.

9. Managing Diversity & Cultural Complexity
This module addresses the critical role of diversity and cultural complexity in today's globalised business environment, equipping students with the skills to manage diverse teams, foster inclusive organisational cultures, and navigate cross-cultural challenges.

10. Business Research Methods
You will learn to formulate and scrutinise research questions, supported by literature reviews, to design and propose research methodology, to collect qualitative and quantitative data, to analyse it, reach conclusions using it and to report it. These skills will be transferable to careers in all fields of business, finance, marketing, economics, tourism or events.

11. Data Visualization for Business Insights
This module equips students with the knowledge and practical skills required to harness the power of BI, using tools such as Power BI to create dynamic, interactive dashboards and reports.

12. The Business Lab: Real-World Consulting in Action
This module provides students with hands-on, real-world business problem-solving experience through engaging with our Innovation Hub. Through the Hub, this module will be enhancing students’ future employability as it is designed to develop skills, knowledge and understanding in a range of career-related personal, professional and key skill areas.

13. Research Investigation
This module provides students with the opportunity to plan and conduct a piece of research through individual and independent activity and to present their findings in using visual aids and in written academic format that meets professional standards.

14. Developing Organisational Strategy in the Digital Age
Students will learn to contextualise and apply their learning, while receiving feedback from leaders driving strategy within their organisations. Students can demonstrate their skillset and become self-directed and reflective individuals to enhance their career ambitions.

15. Operations and Project Management
The module also enhances employability by providing hands-on experience with industry-standard operations and project management tools and methodologies, preparing students for careers within these exciting disciplines.

16. Business Ethics and Sustainability
This module investigates the integration of ethical practices and sustainability in the modern business world, exploring how business decisions impact society, the environment and the economy.

17. Cross-Cultural Marketing
This module addresses the critical need for marketing professionals to operate effectively in an increasingly interconnected global marketplace. Students develop comprehensive understanding of international marketing strategies, cross-cultural consumer behaviour, and market entry decisions.

Students must complete a research investigation in the form of:

1.Traditional Dissertation, or

2.Business Creation Feasibility Project

Age: 18 years old

  • IELTS Academic: A minimum overall score of 6.0 with no individual band less than 5.5 or
  • TOEFL Internet-based A minimum score of 75 or
  • Duolingo English Language Test Minimum Overall score of 105 or
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE) Minimum score of 59 or
  • GCE 'O' Level Grade C6 and above or equivalent

Academic:

  • 3 GCE A levels Passes with at least a Pass (Grade E) in one subject where total combined is equivalent to 104 UCAS tariff points and 3 GCSE at Grade C/4 (or equivalent) including English and Maths, or
  • Other equivalent International Entry Requirement accepted by YSJU
