You may have heard people talk about becoming your best self, but it’s entirely understandable if you’re unclear about what that really means.
On the face of it, becoming your best self is so broad that you could interpret it in many different ways and still not be wrong, while still not being entirely right as it applies to you.
- Are you trying to work your way towards becoming a nicer person?
- Are you trying to achieve a level of patience you currently don’t possess?
- Are you trying to be more successful at your career?
- Are you trying to reach a health and fitness goal that has thus far eluded you?
As you can see, it is very broad and can encompass anything. As such, it’s going to be a very personal journey that only you can make. It’s going to require you to know what it is you want to be best at. Keep in mind that you’re not competing to be the best with someone else. This is entirely about you eventually being a better version of what you are now. Your competition is with yourself.
You want to become your best self. It’s an intimate, personal journey.
You have to figure out how ready you are for such a journey, otherwise it ends up being just a mental exercise that doesn’t go anywhere. You have to figure out how much about yourself and your needs you understand. You should be taking time out of your day to contemplate and be introspective about your current point in life, your goals, your desires, inhibitions, fears, hopes, dreams, and whatever other aspirations you may have.
Then you have to decide which parts of yourself are important enough for you to want to make better. It may not be an obvious decision so does require you put some real thought and consideration to it.
At the end of the day, you want to be at your best. You want to feel and know that you’re giving your all and other people are getting the best from you. If you are making these types of consideration, you’re on the road to finding your own happiness. Find out how to take the next steps forward.
Join us at College of Allied Educators to learn more about yourself, what motivates you, and how you can find happiness, meaning, and success in work, love, and life.
