If you’ve been dwelling on wanting to do something new for some time now, it’s probably a good time to consider if it’s the right time for you to do something about it.
It’s quite normal and common to daydream about doing things we wouldn’t normally do, but these daydreams could also be more than just wishful thinking. It’s possible you’re daydreaming about doing something new with your life because you feel it’s time for you to be doing something new.
There’s likely a good chance you have an idea of what it is you want to do. You’ve probably thought about this for months already, if not years. You’re probably at this point thinking about doing something new because you are feeling unfulfilled with where you are in your life. It could also be that this is something you’ve always wanted to do but decided early on that you’d do something else because it was considered more viable at the time.
In essence, you previously wanted to do something or go a certain direction in your life but decided not to, and now you’re left wanting more out of your present situation. It doesn’t have to mean you dislike your life or are unsuccessful. It could be that you’re doing quite well for yourself, but you feel like there should be something else that you require to be fulfilled.
If you’ve been thinking over this for some time, you should seriously consider taking the next step to explore and see if it is what you’re looking for. If self-discovery, finding out more about other people, and developing ways to help others is something you feel you should be doing, CAE’s Counselling Psychology courses may be the right thing for you. They are part-time and can be done while you are working, and they are flexible enough that you can opt to do them in physical classes or via online classes. They are also relatively short in duration, and you can get a feel for what it takes to be a counsellor, and in the process, you might learn quite a bit about yourself and what it is you’re really looking for.
For some people, they don’t move forward because they think they may be too old, but there’s never really a right time or wrong time. There is only what it is that you need to do in order to feel fulfilled.
