Your journey to help children with special needs starts here!

Children with special needs are often misunderstood and overlooked when they really need the most attention and help. It’s not just attention and help; they need people who understand their special requirements and needs so that the help they receive will give them the best chance to be successful.

One of the most common issues that may surface are behavioural issues. Children with special needs are often times dismissed as trouble makers, or a child acting out and being naughty. Some signs that are often dismissed as simply behavioural issues can be:

  • Inattentiveness
  • Unwillingness or inability to follow instructions
  • Throws tantrums in public
  • Aggression

To dismiss these as purely behavioural problems may be to misdiagnose the cause of the issue. In many cases, this may be a reflection of the child’s inability to properly communicate due to various speech and language difficulties.

Being able to distinguish the difference can make a huge difference in how you help the child under your care, and how effective it is for them.
