Dr. Mandie Shean has worked as a primary school teacher in a variety of settings, including the far north of Western Australia, ‘difficult to staff’ metropolitan schools, and central Canada. After seeing some of the emotional and psychological needs of children, she retrained as a psychologist. She continued to teach and be active in the community whilst studying. Working as a school psychologist she was able to apply the theoretical knowledge to practical issues in schools. Her current role is lecturer/researcher at ECU in the School of Education, specialising in resilience, students with diverse needs, working with challenging youth, and behaviour management. |
