(MC) Advanced Certificate in Inclusive and Special Education

advanced certificate in inclusive and special education

In the early years of a child’s life, there are many developmental milestones to achieve in terms of cognitive development, social development, as well as emotional development. Evidence from studies in neuroscience shows that the highest growth rate happens during these early years. This is the most critical period for a child with special needs to gain relevant skills to help them to cope with their developmental needs and maximise their potential in every way possible through early intervention.

The proposed Advanced Certificate is designed specifically to train potential teachers, parents and caregivers to identify, detect and support children with learning and developmental difficulties. This course consists of five segments which aim to equip learners with the relevant knowledge and skills to assist children with special needs.

The individual modules are developed based on the Skills Framework for Early Childhood, and they cover the technical skills and competencies for a beginning early intervention educator.

(MC) Courses are modular and stackable, allowing progress towards a certificate level qualification as you complete each individual module. These “stackable certificate courses” will help working adults to upskill in a manner that is easier to manage as they pursue their learning and development. This certificate will be issued by College of Allied Educators and it is not a WSQ full qualification.
