College of Allied Educators provides a series of WSQ courses that may give you a head start if you’re looking to start your career in the special education industry or may be exploring a mid-career change and want to work with children.

CAE’s (MC) Advanced Certificate in Inclusive and Special Education is designed specifically to train potential teachers, parents and caregivers to identify, detect and support children with learning and developmental difficulties. This course consists of five segments which aim to equip learners with the relevant knowledge and skills to assist children with special needs.
The modules you’ll be covering will include:
- Early Intervention Principles and Practices (WSQ)
- Classroom Management in Inclusive Education (WSQ)
- Individualised Intervention Planning and Implementation for Children with Special Needs (WSQ)
- Child Functional Needs Assessment (WSQ)
- Interdisciplinary Collaborations in Special Education (WSQ)
You will attain the knowledge and skills to better understand and assist children with special needs during the early years, and you’ll be able to hone your observation and documentation of children’s learning through various methods and activities.
You’ll learn how to better manage the behaviours of children and collaborate with early intervention teachers and other professionals to better understand children’s interests and learning behaviours. You will also learn the principles and applications of professional and ethical conduct as well as gain the ability to liaise with other service professionals to help the children under your care.
The College brings a grounded, holistic experience with its focus on theory as well as real world, practical case studies and examples delivered by lecturers who actively practice in their respective fields. With our continued post course support, we wish to help instil knowledge and a sense of confidence in your teaching and managing children with special needs.
