Is there a way to overcome anxiety?

Is there a way to overcome anxiety?

Fear and anxiety are sometimes thought to be different things but it might be more helpful to think of anxiety as a fear of future events. It may seem silly to think of yourself as being afraid something that may or may not happen, but It manifests as worry and can produce intense conditions.

Symptoms of anxiety can include:

  • loss of appetite,
  • dizziness or confusion,
  • cold sweats,
  • tense muscles and shivering,
  • shortness of breath,
  • upset and churning stomach

While anxiety is more often a temporary condition, lasting hours to days or week; sometimes it can be persistent. When it is persistent, you may end up constantly worrying about what is going to happen, fearful of what is potentially coming.

In such cases, it can even negatively affect your sleep and peace of mind, which starts a vicious cycle that perpetuates your anxiety. Having a good night’s rest helps tremendously in managing anxiety, excessive worry, and fear. An inability to rest properly can make it very difficult to start dealing with your anxiety.

Anxiety can feel insurmountable. It can also feel overwhelming, but taking the time to learn about yourself and the triggers that put you in this state can help you determine what to avoid or what you need to face up to. Often, avoiding the thing you fear is what causes the excessive worry and anxiety.

However, that is easier said than done. Sometimes even admitting we have a fear or a problem is difficult to admit or come to grips with. It can be as difficult to deal with as the anxiety.
