Early Intervention Principles and Practices

The WSQ Early Intervention Principles and Practices is a short 2-day (15.5 hrs) course that will to help better equip you with skills to educate your students and children, whether you are a preschool teacher, special needs educator, or allied educator. Parents and guardians can also benefit from the knowledge gained to better understand and assist their children with special needs during the early years.

Child Functional Needs Assessment

The WSQ Child Functional Needs Assessment course is a short 2-days (16 hrs) course that will impart the knowledge necessary for you to conduct observational and functional needs assessment of children with behavioural issues.

The course will enable you to establish intervention requirements based on your assessments, allowing you to formulate relevant Individualised Education Plans. You will also learn how to describe the impact of family expectations, needs and culture as well as establish the priorities of the families and caregivers.

Individualised Intervention Planning and Implementation for Children with Special Needs

The WSQ Individualised Intervention Planning and Implementation for Children with Special Needs is a short 2-days (17 hrs) course that will impart the knowledge and skills needed to apply the appropriate strategies to plan and deliver developmentally appropriate teaching and learning approaches to meet the needs of children.

The course will enable you to further develop and apply the principles and practices of early intervention, describe the theories differentiating the different learning and teaching approaches, as well as integrate lessons and activities to support the holistic development of children under your care.

Interdisciplinary Collaborations in Special Education

The WSQ Interdisciplinary Collaborations in Special Education course is a short 2-days (16 hrs) course that will impart the knowledge and technique necessary for working with other services, professionals and volunteers.

You will learn the principles and applications of professional and ethical conduct as well as gain the ability to liaise with other service professionals to meet goals, objectives and activities of the teams.

The College brings a grounded, holistic experience with its focus on theory as well as real world, practical case studies and examples delivered by lecturers who actively practice in their respective fields. With our continued post course support, we wish to help instil knowledge and a sense of confidence in your teaching and managing children with special needs.
